ROV for Marine Science Services

Dive Works delivers specialist subsea ROV and underwater survey services supporting marine science and environmental research projects across Australia. With proven experience operating in complex and high-energy marine environments, we provide reliable, field-ready solutions for research institutions, environmental consultants, and project teams.

Our subsea operations are led by experienced commercial divers and supported by highly skilled ROV pilots and technicians. By combining diver-led expertise with advanced subsea ROV technology, we enable accurate data capture, safe subsea access, and dependable underwater survey capability across a wide range of marine conditions.

Geotechnical & Geophysical Surveys

Accurate geotechnical and geophysical surveys are critical to marine research, coastal engineering, and subsea project planning. These surveys provide essential insight into seabed conditions, sediment composition, and potential constraints that inform safe and effective underwater operations. Dive Works delivers high-quality ROV-based underwater surveys using Seaeye Falcon Observation Class subsea ROVs, supported by experienced survey teams. Our ROV survey capability supports pre-planning studies, environmental assessments, and ongoing marine science programs by providing reliable seabed data and visual inspection in cold-water and high-current environments. Dive Works provide world-class surveys of the following types:
Z
Bathymetry surveys
Z
Side-scan sonar surveys
Z
Echosounder surveys
Z
Acoustic sub-bottom profile surveys
Z
Magnetometer surveys
Z
Camera surveys
We can also assist in obtaining sediment samples as well as conduct core and cone penetration testing.

Marine Habitat Mapping

Understanding and protecting marine ecosystems requires accurate mapping of habitats and seabed environments. Dive Works supports marine science and environmental monitoring projects with ROV-based marine habitat mapping and underwater visual surveys, providing clear insight into habitat distribution, condition, and change over time. Using subsea ROVs equipped with imaging and survey tools, our teams deliver detailed habitat maps and visual reporting for protected areas, coastal environments, offshore sites, and research locations. This approach allows marine scientists and environmental managers to assess human and environmental impacts with confidence, while maintaining safe working practices in challenging underwater environments

Diver-Led Surveys,
Supported by ROV Technology

Dive Works provides support to the marine science sector through diver-led subsea expertise supported by advanced ROV survey capability. Our Seaeye Falcon subsea ROVs enable long-duration underwater surveys in cold-water environments and at depths of up to 300 metres, extending our ability to capture high-quality data while reducing unnecessary exposure to risk.

ROVs are deployed to carry out detailed seabed inspection, habitat mapping, and environmental surveys. Where hands-on intervention or specialised in-water work is required, our experienced commercial divers work alongside ROV operations to deliver complete, fit-for-purpose marine science solutions.

Using up-to-date subsea technology and proven field methodologies, Dive Works delivers accurate, comprehensive marine science surveys that are tailored to the specific needs of each project.
